Can you see the identification God is placing on us with Christ? He has said that we are raised up together in this heavenly place and position of Jesus. He further states in (V-10) that it is by us the church that this wisdom will be made known to principalities and powers. Obviously this means we will have to make it known through our command force of delegated authority. Well I realize for most people that would be enough convincing but, there are still a few that are unsure so, we will use this article to make it sure. We will then advance our teachings in the articles to come. Lets go to another passage of scripture to back up this truth. Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. This word power to tread is the word “exousia” and holds the meaning: the power of authority in the greek. So we can see Jesus once again delegating authority. The second word for power where the devil is concerned is “dunamis” which holds the meaning of dynamic. So Jesus himself is stating that we are given authority over all of the dynamic works of the devil. It is obvious even to the most resistant of people that this life of ours is intended to demonstrate Jesus authority within our lives. I would like to end this brief introduction to authority by stating that “Authority is not so much a position of achievement as it is a character of the born again spirit in Christ Jesus.” So walk strong and in your authority.
